The story
A young girl and her loyal friend embark on a rescue mission through a colorful world full of cold machines and unfamiliar creatures. Planet of Lana is a cinematic puzzle adventure framed by an epic sci-fi saga that stretches across centuries and galaxies.
What it’s like
Hand-drawn 2D painterly backdrops in saturated greens, violets and warm oranges, with the machine world rendered in cold blue-grey steel and glowing amber circuitry, so each new room feels like stepping from a sunlit meadow into a sterile industrial hall. Movement is slow and deliberate, with long pauses for the camera to rest on wind through tall grass, drifting spores and the quiet mechanical hum of gates and lifts. The score is sparse and orchestral, swelling only at key beats and otherwise leaving room for ambient creaks, distant calls and the soft patter of a loyal companion creature padding behind. Puzzles are unhurried, built around timing and cooperation, so the rhythm is calm and contemplative, punctuated by brief tense escapes from threatening machines. Its emotional register is wistful and tender, with a strong sense of loyalty and quiet wonder, the mood of a gentle, cinematic fable told in a foreign landscape. Violence is limited to mild peril and non-graphic fights against robots, with no gore and no sexual content. It suits a slow evening, a family play session, or anyone who wants a story-led puzzle game with a hushed, storybook atmosphere.
