The story

Clumsy high school student Oh Ha-ni falls for the brilliant and aloof Baek Seung-jo, only to have her feelings rejected. When her family home collapses, Ha-ni moves in with her father’s longtime friend, who happens to be Seung-jo’s father, giving her an unexpected chance to win his heart.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated sitcom colour: sunlit school corridors, pastel bedrooms, and the soft-focus glow of kitchen lamps at dinner, with a camera that loves quick reaction shots, pratfalls and exaggerated faces. The score leans on bouncy pop and cute synth motifs that swell whenever a glance lingers, and the whole thing has the glossy, slightly overlit look of a 2010 Korean drama. Its vibe is giddy, teasing and warm, a sugary comedy of crushes that tips into bittersweet longing and then back into sweetness. It suits a lazy weekend binge, a comfort rewatch after a long week, or something to half-watch while folding laundry. Pacing is brisk within episodes but unhurried in its romance, with frequent misunderstandings and a steady drip of jealousy. The central arc is a clumsy, earnest girl slowly breaking through a proud, guarded boy's defences while living under his own roof. The intensity is low: some slapstick and a few tearful confrontations, with no violence, gore or sexual content. It is for viewers who want an affectionate, funny romance about first love and stubborn pride.
