The story

The town of Ravenswood has been suffering from a curse for generations. Five strangers suddenly feel connected by this fatal curse and feel the need to dig in the town's mysterious and horrible history before it's to late for each one of them.

What it’s like

Dusky, gloss-lit small-town gothic, with overcast autumn exteriors, lamplit interiors and the polished, slightly unreal sheen of a network teen drama. Camera work stays conventional and close on faces, with frequent cuts to dark woods, old houses and cemetery-edged streets that carry the sense that the town itself is watching. The score leans on pulsing synth and ominous strings that swell at each reveal, and the tension arrives in steady, serial bursts rather than slow dread. Vibe: moody, soapy, suspenseful with a teen-romance undertow, best suited to a weeknight binge or a comfort watch with a blanket and a drink. The pacing is brisk and cliffhanger-driven, with each episode closing on a new clue or threat. The emotional register is melodramatic, with friendships tested and secret pasts unspooling among young adults who feel bound together by fear. Intensity is moderate: supernatural deaths and jump-scare tension, some brief violence, teen romance and sexual innuendo, with dread rather than gore. Suited to fans of supernatural mystery and Pretty Little Liars-style serial drama who want suspense without brutality.
