The story
A girl with extraordinary psychic abilities joins two gifted teen boys at a small ghost-hunting agency to fight the many deadly spirits haunting London.
What it’s like
Gritty but sunlit London streets, rain-slick cobbles, gaslit Victorian-style interiors and the cool blue-grey of a city after dusk give this series a moody, lived-in look, with the ghosts rendered as eerie wisps and glowing silhouettes that flicker through ordinary rooms. Sound does much of the work: a bright, driving score with pizzicato strings and synth pulses punctuates chases, while quieter scenes lean on the hum of an old house and the scrape of a lamp or a door. The vibe is brisk, witty and wry, with a playful undercurrent of teenage banter that softens the spookiness into something close to cosy spooky-fun. Episodes move at a steady, adventure-serial clip, each case unspooling in a self-contained burst before the longer mystery builds. Intensity is moderate: ghostly peril, jump scares and some frightening encounters, with menace more than gore and violence that is mostly brief and stylised rather than brutal. It suits a weekend binge, a family evening, or a comfort watch for viewers who like their horror light and their leads sharp-tongued, and it is especially fitting for anyone who enjoys young-adult fantasy with a strong London texture.
