The story

After an altercation between Alex, the president's son, and Britain's Prince Henry at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, their long-running feud now threatens to drive a wedge in U.S./British relations. When the rivals are forced into a staged truce, their icy relationship begins to thaw and the friction between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected.

What it’s like

Bright, polished daylight and warm palaces carry most of this romantic comedy, with saturated royal blues and reds echoing its title across embassy receptions, castle gardens and sun-washed Manhattan apartments. The camera stays fluid and conventional, favouring well-lit two-shots and playful close-ups during bickering, while the score leans on bouncy pop and tender piano when the leads drop their guard. Its vibe is breezy, witty and sweetly romantic, a feel-good escape for a lazy weekend afternoon, a comfort rewatch, or a light evening with friends. The pacing is brisk and genial, with banter-driven scenes giving way to warmer, more earnest moments as two men who start as public rivals slowly discover they have far more in common than they expected. Intensity is low: there is some strong language, a few kisses and romantic scenes with sensual touches, but no real violence and little real danger. It suits viewers who want an openly queer, enemies-to-lovers romance with royal-court glamour, sharp comic timing and a happy, reassuring ending.
