The story
The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice, awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by new found allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.
What it’s like
Hard-edged, saturated digital action: slick glossy surfaces, stark white laboratory corridors, sickly green and red emergency lighting, and rain-slicked neon streets in Tokyo that give way to snowbound Moscow and a glowing blue-tinted sterile facility. Slow-motion gun ballet and rapid, stylised cuts dominate, with a pulsing electronic score that thumps under every confrontation and drops to clinical silence between them. The camera favours fast tracking shots and sudden close-ups over stillness, so the rhythm feels relentless rather than reflective. The vibe is cold, pumped-up and video-game brisk, with a streak of campy absurdity. Violence is frequent and bloody, with zombie dismemberment, gunfire and hand-to-hand combat throughout, plus some jump-scare horror; there is no sexual content and little tenderness. Expect a lonely, hardened heroine who keeps fighting through overwhelming odds rather than a character study. It suits late-night action fans and franchise completists who want spectacle and kinetic set pieces over quiet emotional depth.
