The story

When shy college freshman Devon asks cool-girl Celeste to be her roommate, a blossoming friendship quickly spirals into a war of passive aggression.

What it’s like

Sharp, awkward comedy with a dry, escalating mood, built around two young women who start out warm and drift into quiet hostility. It suits a lighthearted evening in, a laugh-out-loud night with friends, or anyone who enjoys the cringe of close-quarters social tension. The emotional register sits between affectionate and barbed: the friendship is sweet at first, and the comedy comes from small slights and polite sabotage growing into open rivalry. The arc follows a shy newcomer finding her footing beside a more confident peer who turns out to be harder to live with than expected. Expect mild profanity and social discomfort rather than violence or gore. It is best for viewers who like character-driven college comedies with a bitter-sweet edge, and for those who enjoy watching a fragile friendship curdle in close quarters.
