The story

Five best friends from college reunite 10 years later for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami. Their hard partying takes a hilariously dark turn when they accidentally kill a male stripper. Amidst the craziness of trying to cover it up, they're ultimately brought closer together when it matters most.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated Miami daylight and hotel-suite interiors lit by pool-blue and neon, with a bouncy, pop-leaning soundtrack that keeps the party energy up even when things go wrong. The camera is mostly handheld and close, catching the chaos of a group of women crowding a small space, with quick cuts between the messy night and the tense morning-after scramble. The vibe is raucous and scrappy, a dark comedy with a warm core, best for a loud Friday night in or a group watch with friends who don't mind some grimness under the jokes. The pacing is brisk and escalating, and the emotional register swings between slapstick panic and sincere affection, following five old college friends who drift apart and then rediscover what they mean to each other under pressure. The intensity is frequent crude sexual humor, heavy drinking and drug use, strong profanity, and a fatal accident played for laughs and shock; the violence is brief and mostly off-screen, but the cover-up storyline is dark and uncomfortable at times. Not suited to anyone wanting something gentle. Made for viewers who like raunchy female-led ensemble comedies with a streak of gallows humor and a sentimental ending.
