The story

A devoted grandson's mission to reunite his ailing grandmother with her ancestral home turns into a complicated, comic cross-border affair.

What it’s like

Bright, warm domestic interiors in saturated turmeric-yellow and marigold tones, with a crowded Delhi household full of kitchen clatter and loud, affectionate arguments over tea. The camera stays close and conversational, favouring medium shots and two-shots that let the comic timing land, and the sections set across the border open into sunnier, wider streets and softer, dustier light. The soundtrack leans on bouncy Punjabi folk-pop and warm, guitar-led romantic songs, with dialogue and laughter carrying much of the rest. Pacing is brisk and playful, and the emotional beats arrive as sentimental swells rather than sustained grief. The mood is cheerful, nostalgic and mildly mischievous, suited to a lazy weekend afternoon, a family viewing, or a light comfort watch when you want something upbeat. Intensity is low: some verbal sparring and a few tense moments about family honour, with no violence, gore or sexual content, and the romance stays chaste and playful. Made for people who want a warm, funny family romance with heart and plenty of colour.
