The story

In Scooby-Doo’s greatest adventure yet, see the never-before told story of how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met and how they joined forces with young detectives Fred, Velma, and Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc. Now, with hundreds of cases solved, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, toughest mystery ever: an evil plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global “dogpocalypse,” the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone ever imagined.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated CGI animation with glossy surfaces, sunny palettes, and fast, kinetic camera moves that swoop across ancient ruins, rain-slick cities, and sun-warmed coastlines. The sound is a busy, upbeat mix of big orchestral swells, quick comic stings, and cartoon sound effects, with near-constant motion and a steady stream of gags. It feels like a Saturday-morning cartoon stretched to feature length: lively, playful, and easy to drop into on a lazy afternoon, during a family movie night, or as background while doing something else. Pacing is brisk and jokey, with frequent slapstick and quick cuts between chases and set pieces. The emotional register is warm and goofy, with a gentle arc about two lonely outsiders finding a found family and a bit of self-belief. Intensity is mild: spooky monsters, a shadowy villain, and several thrilling chases, but the peril is cartoonish and there's no gore or sexual content, and the scares stay light. It suits young children, families, and anyone with a soft spot for the classic gang who wants something cheerful, uncomplicated, and affectionate.
