The story
Lux, an exceptionally-gifted geek, suffers a severe humiliation from the other students as soon as he enters his prestigious engineering school. To take revenge, he will use one of his best skills, “stalking”. He hacks their cell phones and computers; including Alma’s, the object of all his desires. Lux becomes the person he always wanted to be, before being caught in his own trap.
What it’s like
Cool blue screen glow and cramped dorm-room dark, with bright fluorescent corridors of a French engineering school cutting in as harsh, clinical contrast. The camera stays close and restless, often handheld, lingering on laptops, phone screens and the reflected light on a face at night, so the surveillance itself becomes part of the look. Electronic pulses and sparse synth textures underline the tension, with quiet stretches of ambient hum where the characters sit alone with their devices. Vibe: tense, sleek and quietly uneasy, a wired kind of anxiety. It suits a late night alone, a binge session when you want momentum, or a watch with the lights off. Pacing is brisk and the tone is teen-drama sharp, with humiliation, shame and secret desire driving the people, and their arcs trace a bruised outsider's slide from wounded pride into a trap of his own making. Intensity is moderate: cruelty, public embarrassment and hazing are present and sting, with some sexual undercurrent and emotional coercion, but no gore. It is for people who want a tense, screen-saturated drama about power, revenge and the costs of being watched and watching others.
