The story

In 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu and Ken Masters are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don't, it's GAME OVER!

What it’s like

Built around tournament fight sequences, this is a loud, kinetic action comedy with a wink toward its arcade-game roots, set in 1993 and tipping into fantasy as its demons and conspiracy surface. Expect a playful, self-aware tone that leans on the absurdity of a video game's rules and stakes, with the fighting staged as the main event. The violence is central and billed as brutal, with punches, kicks and combat that land hard and often, though the comic register keeps it from feeling grim. Its emotional thread follows two estranged fighters forced back into the ring, mostly through rivalry and reluctant reconnection rather than quiet introspection. Sound design and score are likely to be driven by the energy of the fights, not sparse or ambient. It suits a Friday night with friends, a fan of martial arts spectacle or video game adaptations, or anyone wanting big-screen fight choreography with a sense of humour. It is not gentle or low-key: viewers who want calm, dialogue-led drama or a violence-free watch should look elsewhere.
