The story

Romain Faubert is a 39 year old, single, medical photographer... and a raging hypochondriac. His doctor and only friend Dr. Dimitri Zvenka thinks he knows the cure for Romain: dating! But with the arrival of freedom fighter Anton Miroslav, everyone might get more then they bargained for...

What it’s like

Bright, bustling, sitcom-style comedy with cheerful daylight in clinics, apartments and Parisian streets, shot in plain, brisk coverage that favours broad physical gags and reaction shots over lingering atmosphere. The palette runs warm and clean, the score is light and bouncy, and the sound is full of chatter, slamming doors and rapid-fire banter. Its vibe is silly, good-natured and a little frantic, the kind of easy comedy for a lazy Saturday afternoon or a laugh with friends. The pacing is quick and episodic, with escalating misunderstandings and jokes that build on a neurotic man's anxieties about his health, while the emotional arc is simple: a lonely, fussy hypochondriac gradually learns to loosen up around the people who care about him. Intensity is low. There is slapstick, mild crude humour, and some comic peril around illness and mishaps, but no real gore, no sustained menace and nothing harsh. It suits viewers who want a light, low-stakes French comedy with warmth and goofy energy, and it is a comfortable pick for anyone seeking something easy and funny without grim or intense material.
