The story
Superfighters Deluxe is a multiplayer 2D action game where little flat-headed men fight to the death in small and highly destructible arenas. Surviving each round takes skill, strategy and luck.
What it’s like
Chunky pixel sprites and bright, flat primary colours fill small boxy arenas, with scenery that crumbles, splinters and bursts apart as rounds go on. The sound is bouncy and cartoonish: quick gunshots, thuds, crates shattering, and a cheerful chiptune-leaning score that keeps the mood light even as the stage falls apart. Its feel is chaotic but playful, a loud, scrappy scramble with plenty of sudden reversals. Rounds are short and frantic, built for pick-up sessions with friends on one couch, where a few minutes of shouting and sabotage is the whole point, or for a solo spin against bots when a quick, silly burst of play is wanted. Violence is constant but deliberately cartoonish: little figures are knocked, shot and blown apart in exaggerated, comic fashion with no gore and no real cruelty. Best for groups who want loud, goofy competition and for anyone after a light, slapstick-tinged brawl rather than anything tense or grim.
