The story
Master the evergrowing dragon in virtual reality. Tails is a roomscale VR game for the HTC Vive. Collect lanterns in order to grow the tail of your dragon. The game is easy to pick up but hard to master, and ensures a fun challenge for the whole family.
What it’s like
Bright, stylised low-poly worlds with simple flat colour and soft glowing lanterns that stand out against darker environments, all rendered for a room-scale headset. The sound is light and playful, with chiming collection cues and gentle ambient music that never grows heavy. Movement is physical: you lean, duck and sweep your arms to steer a dragon whose tail lengthens each time you gather a lantern, so the screen fills with a winding, ever-longer body that you have to weave through the space without clipping its own coils. Pacing is brisk but forgiving, built around short rounds of rising difficulty and quick restarts. The tone is cheerful and low-stakes, with fleeting tension that comes from precision rather than threat, and there is no gore or violence. It suits a solo session in a cleared-out living room, a burst of active play on a weekend afternoon, or a playful introduction to VR for kids and adults alike, especially people who want something physical, bright and easy to start.
