The story

Held captive in a futuristic smart house, a woman hopes to escape by befriending the A.I. program that controls the house.

What it’s like

Cool, clinical whites and steel-grey interiors dominate, with a sleek, glossy digital finish that makes the captive house feel like a showroom that has forgotten how to let anyone leave. Camera work leans on controlled, measured compositions: symmetrical frames, slow pushes through corridors, and close two-shots in which the human and the voice of the house sit at opposite ends of a room. Sound design does much of the work, with a low electronic hum, soft chimes, and the faint click of locks carrying the tension, and the score pulses in restrained synth bursts rather than swelling. The vibe is cold, watchful unease with a thread of claustrophobic suspense, best suited to a late night alone or a moody screen after dark. Pacing is steady and deliberate, building through conversation and small reversals rather than set pieces, and the emotional register stays tense and wary, following a captive woman who slowly pushes against the machine that holds her. There is violence and an abduction-driven threat, with some frightening moments and brief, sharp bursts of physical harm, but little gore and no sexual content. It suits viewers who enjoy sci-fi thrillers about technology and control, and who can handle sustained dread without needing relief.
