The story

When an old acquaintance is murdered, Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax, to help. In partnership with Marybeth Medina, they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.

What it’s like

Hard-edged and steely, with cool blue-grey palettes, crisp institutional interiors of offices and warehouses, and a restrained handheld camera that stays close to its characters during fights and quieter exchanges alike. The look leans on desaturated daylight, dim corporate lighting and rain-slicked night streets, with a score of low pulsing synth and sparse percussion that swells during confrontations and drops to near silence in the spaces between. Its pacing is steady and methodical, building through investigative interludes toward bursts of brutal, abrupt violence that lands hard and quick rather than lingering. The vibe is tense, grim and grandly procedural, a mood best suited to a late evening alone or a sit-down action night. Its central figures are an emotionally withdrawn savant and his estranged, dangerous brother slowly learning to trust each other, so the emotional register is wary and bruised rather than warm. Expect frequent gunfire, hand-to-hand fights, and some blood, with dread and menace more present than gore. It suits viewers who want a sequel thriller with a cerebral edge, a tangled conspiracy, and a fraternal bond under strain, and it is not gentle.
