The story
This time around Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with their pesky cousin Eustace Scrubb find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a fantastic Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated sea and sky dominate this fantasy adventure, with sun-drenched open water, glowing golden sails, and luminous island vistas that feel storybook-vivid rather than gritty. The camera moves with a sweeping, wide-angle confidence, drifting across the deck of the ship and over glassy blue ocean, while interior scenes glow warm with lantern light. The score is orchestral and buoyant, swelling with brass and strings during sea-chase moments and softening into gentle wonder around the enchanted islands. Its vibe is sunny, wondering and light-hearted, the sort of afternoon watch for a family movie night or a comfort rewatch on a lazy weekend. Pacing is episodic, hopping from island to island, and the emotional arc follows a prickly, self-centred boy, Eustace, slowly softening through the journey. Intensity is mild: a few sword fights, some sea-battle peril, a sea serpent and dragon-like creatures, but nothing graphic or truly frightening, and no gore or sexual content. It suits families, young teens, and anyone who wants a gentle, earnest fantasy with a moral undercurrent.
