The story

A picture-perfect family is torn apart after Tyler finds a cache of disturbing images in his father's possession. He begins to suspect that the man he trusts most in the world may be responsible for the murder of 13 women ten years prior.

What it’s like

Cool, overcast daylight filters through tidy suburban windows, and the palette leans on faded greens, beige and church-pew wood, with the family home looking warm from the outside and airless within. The camera mostly holds still and lets scenes play out in long, composed frames, so unease builds in what goes unsaid at the dinner table, in a parked car, or in a dim back room. Woods and campsite scenes feel damp and open, and the score is sparse, with low tones and near-silence doing much of the work. The vibe is quiet dread: uneasy domestic calm, slowly curdling. It suits a late, alone viewing or a grey afternoon when you want something tense but unhurried. Pacing is deliberate, and the emotional arc follows a teenager slowly losing his trust in the people closest to him. Violence is present but restrained: a few brief, disturbing images and a sense of past crimes, with little on-screen gore and some mature themes. It is for viewers who like psychological thrillers that favour atmosphere and performance over shock.
