The story

Following the death of the Leigh family matriarch, Annie and her children uncover disturbing secrets about their heritage. Their daily lives are not only impacted, but they also become entangled in a chilling fate from which they cannot escape, driving them to the brink of madness.

What it’s like

Cold, precise dollhouse framing: long unbroken takes of rooms lit by dim lamps and pale blue dusk, miniatures and model houses arranged with the stillness of a diorama, and a palette of muted greens, beiges and washed-out wood that slowly curdles into sickly amber and deep black. The sound design does much of the work, with low droning hums, creaking floorboards and a rising string drone that seems to press up through the floor. Pacing is slow and deliberate, building dread over long stretches before bursting into sudden, brutal violence and shocking, graphic moments that land hard and linger. Its vibe is grief-stricken unease, a suffocating, claustrophobic family drama tipping into nightmare. It suits a late, alone viewing when you want to be fully absorbed rather than comforted. Intensity is high: graphic gore, a disturbing death of a child, self-harm, and sustained psychological terror, with sexual content minimal. The arc follows a fractured family unravelling under grief and inherited dread. Not for anyone seeking something gentle, but for viewers who want slow-burn horror with emotional weight and a bleak, uncompromising chill.
