The story

Years after surviving horrific abuse in high school, a woman puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes.

What it’s like

Cool, glossy palettes run throughout: pale grey and steel-blue apartments, sleek offices, and hard overhead light in school corridors, with warm amber reserved for memory. Tight close-ups hold on faces during scheming, and the camera lingers on reflections in glass and polished surfaces. The score pulses with tense strings and low electronic throbs that tighten during planning sequences, while quiet hallways and rain-streaked windows give long stretches of unease. Following a woman years after a school ordeal as she engineers patient, careful retribution, the story builds slowly, each episode sharpening the turn. Intensity is high: prolonged bullying, sadistic cruelty, a graphic burning sequence, and sexual humiliation, with violence that is brutal and disturbing rather than stylized gore. The mood is cold, vengeful and tense, best suited to a focused late-night binge rather than background viewing. It suits viewers who want dark revenge drama with morally complicated characters and social commentary on power and class, and who can sit with sustained cruelty.
