The story

The Grinch hatches a scheme to ruin Christmas when the residents of Whoville plan their annual holiday celebration. But a certain little who might change things.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated 3D animation with a snowy, storybook polish: Whoville's candy-colored houses stacked on a mountain, glossy snow, and a cave lair lit in cool blues and violets that feels cold and cavernous without being frightening. The camera swoops and cranes through busy holiday set pieces, and the surreal, exaggerated character design (wide-eyed Whos, a rubbery, sulking Grinch) keeps everything playful. Sound leans on sleigh bells, swelling orchestral holiday arrangements and a few upbeat musical numbers, with plenty of slapstick and cheerful chatter. Its vibe is warm, bouncy and gently sardonic, suited to a family movie night, a holiday-season watch with kids, or an easy lift on a grey December afternoon. Pacing is brisk and tonal shifts are quick, moving from grumpy mischief to sentimental uplift. The emotional arc follows a bitter, isolated grump slowly softening toward the warmth of the people he has been mocking. Intensity is very mild: some slapstick tumbles and a bit of peril, with no real violence, gore or scary content. It suits young children, families, and anyone wanting cheerful holiday comfort with no edge.
