The story
Magnus Mortuga has been killed. The captain of the world's strangest submarine, he was found in a locked room with an ancient stone cauldron - unsealed and opened for the first time. How did he die? Was it a curse? Perhaps one of his eccentric crew? Or does the bizarre truth run even deeper...
What it’s like
Murky underwater greens and sickly lantern-yellow light, with the claustrophobic interiors of a brass-and-rivet submarine rendered in a hand-drawn, slightly grainy style that suggests old ink and stained paper. The sound leans on creaking hull metal, distant pressure thuds, and a low, uneasy drone that swells when the cauldron's secrets start to surface. Exploration moves at a deliberate, careful pace: you poke through cramped cabins and dim corridors, collecting clues and working through puzzles that reward patience over reflexes, with short bursts of action breaking up the quiet. The mood is eerie and curious rather than frightening, a steady mystery that tilts toward strange and dreamlike. Its intensity is moderate, with occasional brief action sequences and some unsettling imagery, but no sustained gore. It suits a late evening alone with headphones, or a slow weekend session for players who enjoy puzzling out an odd, atmospheric whodunit and don't mind a few tense moments along the way.
