The story
Species: Unknown is a 1 to 4 players co-op survival horror. Complete high-risk missions aboard an abandoned ship while being hunted by an unknown creature. Survive and upgrade your gear to face each new threat that lurks in the dark.
What it’s like
Dim corridors lit by flickering emergency strips and the thin beam of a handheld torch, with the grime of an abandoned ship's metal walls catching the light in cold blues and rust browns. The soundscape leans on the groan of hull plating, dripping water, and distant machinery, with sudden stingers when something moves in the dark. The feel is tense, cramped and claustrophobic, the kind of low, sustained dread that makes every doorway a small decision. Pacing alternates between slow creeping exploration and short, frantic bursts of firefight and scramble, so the tension rarely lets up. Violence is frequent and sharp, with creature attacks and gunfire, and the horror relies on jump scares and pursuit more than on sustained gore. It suits a late-night session with friends over voice chat, when the group can talk each other through the dark, and it is for players who want co-operative survival horror with a steady build-up of gear and a shared sense of panic.
