The story
When a group of teenagers goes on a spring break camping trip, an unfortunate accident sets off a race to save their friend’s most prized possession.
What it’s like
Bright, flat daylight and saturated desert-and-campground colour give this a sun-scorched, cheap-comedy look, with handheld, jittery camerawork that keeps the teen cast mugging in close. The sound is loud and pop-driven, with bass-heavy party tracks and sudden cartoonish stings that undercut the gross-out beats. It moves at a brisk, relentless clip, cutting between frantic set-pieces and crude bits, and the mood is cheerfully juvenile and anarchic, a sort of cringe-comedy that tips into outright nastiness. The intensity is high and graphic: explicit sexual content and frank nudity, crude bodily humour, venomous snakebites, and a severed-body-part gag played for maximum revulsion, with a fair amount of blood. Expect no restraint and no gentleness. It suits a late-night, low-brain laugh with friends, or anyone who likes their comedy deliberately tasteless and loud, rather than anyone wanting something warm or calm.
