The story

A young artist gets stranded in an extensive, immaculate forest in western Ireland, where, after finding shelter, she becomes trapped alongside three strangers, stalked by mysterious creatures each night.

What it’s like

Dim, mossy greens and wet grey daylight give way to a murk of torchlight and blue-black night in this Irish-set horror, shot with a restrained, watchful camera that lingers on dense trees and the cramped concrete of a shelter. The sound is mostly wind through branches, dripping water, and a low, sparse score that surfaces only when something stirs in the dark, so the quiet itself carries the dread. Its vibe is damp, uneasy and hushed, the kind of atmosphere that suits a late evening alone with the lights low or a rainy night when you want to feel a chill without being overwhelmed. The pace is slow and deliberate, building steadily through long stretches of waiting and small, tense exchanges between strangers forced into close quarters, and its emotional core is a guarded young woman learning, reluctantly, to trust the people around her. Intensity is moderate: there is creature-driven menace and jump-scare tension, some frightening imagery and a few sharp moments of violence, but little gore and no sexual content. It is for viewers who enjoy atmospheric mystery and folklore-tinged fear more than relentless shock.
