The story

A guy meets the woman of his dreams and invites her to his company's corporate retreat, but realizes he sent the invite to the wrong person.

What it’s like

Bright, flat resort light and saturated tropical color, the kind of glossy digital comedy that looks like a Netflix original shot for easy viewing: wide establishing shots of hotel pools and beaches, plenty of medium two-shots, and conventional coverage that cuts quickly for punchlines. The sound is upbeat pop and bouncy library score, with a broad, mugging comic energy from its leads. Its vibe is silly, loud and breezy, the sort of thing for a lazy weekend afternoon, a long-haul flight, or background company when you want to laugh without thinking. The pacing is brisk and sitcom-like, with mistaken-identity set-ups escalating into physical gags and awkward date sequences. Emotionally it stays light: a bumbling guy learns to be honest and a rom-com pairing comes together. The intensity is moderate and mostly played for laughs: slapstick mishaps and a shark-attack scene, with some crude sexual innuendo and a few uncomfortable comic situations involving sexual assault played as farce. Not gentle, and not for anyone sensitive to that material. Best for viewers who like broad, crude, dated-feeling studio comedy and don't mind raunchy jokes.
