The story

Rito Yuuki is unlucky when it comes to love — no matter how hard he tries to confess to his crush, his efforts end in failure. After another day’s confession goes down the drain, Rito spends his night sulking in his bathtub. But when a naked girl with a pointed tail teleports into the tub with him, it seems like Rito’s luck is finally looking up! His fortune doesn’t last long when he finds himself accidentally engaged to the buxom beauty who is none other than the princess of the planet Deviluke!

What it’s like

Bright, saturated cel animation with clean lines, sunny pastel school hallways, and glossy, sparkling hair, the look of a mid-2000s anime comedy at its most colorful. Scenes move at a brisk, slapstick clip, with quick cuts, exaggerated reaction faces, and a bouncy, upbeat score that pushes every awkward moment along. The vibe is goofy, flustered, and warm: a bright, silly evening watch for when you want something light and unserious. Fanservice is constant, with frequent nudity, suggestive camera angles, and sexual innuendo, though it stays comedic rather than explicit. Violence is limited to cartoonish slapstick and sci-fi gadget mishaps, with no real gore or cruelty. The emotional register is teasing and romantic, and the central relationships develop through misunderstandings and escalating chaos rather than depth. It suits fans of harem comedies who don't mind a lot of fanservice and want an easygoing, cheerfully ridiculous ride.
