The story

A re-imagining of the 1980s miniseries about the world's first encounter with an alien race in which the aliens call themselves The Visitors, and have a seemingly friendly agenda that may or may not be a cover for something more malevolent.

What it’s like

Bright, glossy network sci-fi with sun-filled suburban streets, spotless white ship interiors, and cool blue-steel corporate lobbies, all shot in a clean digital finish that makes everyday rooms feel faintly staged. Camera work is conventional and mobile, with plenty of over-the-shoulder conversations, tight two-shots in kitchens and offices, and sweeping establishing wides of gleaming hovering craft. The score leans on swelling orchestral strings and synth pulses, and the mood shifts between sunny reassurance and sly, amused unease. Pacing is brisk and serialized, each episode ending on a reveal or a glance that makes you want the next one. Intensity is moderate: occasional gunfire and brief scuffles, some tense confrontations and interrogation-style menace, and a few deaths handled without gore, with brief mild sexual content. Think of it as a comfort-sized paranoia watch, good for a weeknight after dinner or a flight where you want suspense without dread settling in. It suits viewers who enjoy big, sleek alien-invasion spectacle, flashy performances, and a friendly surface that keeps you guessing about what lies beneath.
