The story

John and his buddy Jeremy are emotional criminals who know how to use a woman's hopes and dreams for their own carnal gain. Their modus operandi: crashing weddings. Normally, they meet guests who want to toast the romantic day with a random hook-up. But when John meets Claire, he discovers what true love – and heartache – feels like.

What it’s like

Bright, sun-washed wedding venues in summer: manicured lawns, white tents, cake tables and open-air receptions shot in warm daylight that gives every scene a glossy, slightly overexposed comedy-of-manners sheen. The camera stays loose and mobile, drifting through crowded dance floors and mansion hallways with an easy, improvised energy, while the soundtrack leans on jaunty pop and wedding-reception standards that keep the mood buoyant. The vibe is breezy and mischievous with a warm undertow of romantic longing, the kind of film you put on for a summer evening, a lazy weekend afternoon, or a light comfort rewatch with friends. Pacing is brisk and talky, built on banter and escalating set pieces, and the emotional arc follows a charming, shallow man slowly learning to want something real. Intensity is low: there is no real violence, mild crude humour, sexual innuendo and a bit of drinking, with raunchy talk and some nudity-adjacent gags but nothing graphic and little genuine menace. It suits people who want a raucous, good-natured romantic comedy with heart under the bluster.
