The story
Three women living in three different decades: a housewife in the '60s, a socialite in the '80s and a lawyer in 2018, deal with infidelity in their marriages.
What it’s like
Saturated period colour does most of the work here: candy pastels and rounded mid-century sets in the 1960s, glossy, lacquered excess in the 1980s, and a cooler, sleeker modern palette for the present day, with each decade's framing and music tuned to its era. The mood is wry and glamorous, a dark comedy with a suspenseful edge, where polished surfaces hide cracks and a sly, knowing score underlines the absurdity. Each storyline moves at a brisk, deliberate pace, building tension through small domestic moments before tipping into crime and betrayal, so the viewing experience is more binge-friendly than meditative. Its people are women who start out boxed in by marriage and gradually reclaim agency, sometimes through unsettling choices. Intensity is moderate to strong: infidelity, lying, sexual content and violence, including killings, that land more as shock and suspense than gore. It suits a night in with a drink, or an evening when you want something stylish, sharp and a little wicked. It is for viewers who enjoy suburban satire, twisty melodrama and female-led stories with a dark sense of humour.
