The story
In a magical universe, witches, warriors begin fighting in the name of good .vs. evil! At a magic school, five teenage girls are selected to defend the universe with their magic.
What it’s like
Bright, saturated 2D animation with glossy pastel palettes, sparkling transformation sequences and glowing magical effects that bloom across the screen, set against candy-coloured fairy worlds, a sunlit school of floating towers and enchanted forests. The sound is bouncy pop-rock theme music and chirpy incidental score, with transformation sequences built to rise and crest like a cheer. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with each instalment wrapping up a small problem, and the tone is upbeat, warm and earnest, a nostalgic comfort watch for an after-school afternoon or a lazy weekend morning. Fights against dark forces are frequent but cartoonish: stylised beams of light, shields and sprites, with little blood or lasting harm and fear kept light. The emotional arcs centre on five girls learning to trust each other, handle jealousy and grow into their magic, with friendship and self-belief at the core. Gentle, family-friendly and colourful, it suits children and adults who enjoy fairy-tale fantasy and a sweet, unshowy sense of wonder.
