The story

A daily puzzle game in which players must guess the five-letter word of the day within six attempts, with each failed guess giving them information as to whether the letters they have used appear in the correct word, and where.

What it’s like

Clean, flat, almost stationery-plain: a white or dark grid of five-by-six tiles on a plain background, with the pale greens, yellows and greys of its feedback the only colour on the screen. There is no music to speak of and no animation beyond a small tile flip as each guess is revealed, so the sound and feel are quiet, tactile clicks and the soft pause before the answer appears. It plays in a few minutes in a browser tab, one puzzle a day, and the vibe is calm, focused and mildly suspenseful, the kind of thing you open with a morning coffee or during a short break. Pacing is set entirely by the player: each guess is a small deliberation, the grid slowly filling with clues until the final row either resolves in relief or doesn't. Its emotional register is wry and low-stakes, with a shared, slightly communal pleasure in the daily reset and the quiet ritual of sharing a grey-and-green pattern afterwards. There is no violence, no gore, no sexual content and no fear, only the mild tension of running out of guesses. It suits people who want a gentle daily brain-teaser, word lovers who enjoy deduction over action, and anyone who wants something brief, calm and unhurried.
