The story

History -- make that high school -- may repeat itself when Marni learns that Joanna, the mean girl from her past, is set to be her sister-in-law. Before the wedding bells toll, Marni must show her brother that a tiger doesn't change its stripes. On Marni's side is her mother, while Joanna's backed by her wealthy aunt.

What it’s like

Bright, sunny suburban daytime with saturated, candy-bright color: sunlit kitchens, pastel bridesmaid dresses, glossy wedding-venue lawns and warm golden-hour patios, shot in clean, polished studio-comedy style with plenty of medium shots and quick cuts between reaction faces. The sound is a bouncy, upbeat pop-and-orchestral score with bright comic stings and a cheerful soundtrack. Vibe: light, breezy and mildly catty, with a nostalgic high-school edge. It suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a comfort rewatch, or something easy to half-watch while folding laundry. Pacing is brisk and sitcom-like, with physical slapstick, pratfalls and running gags, and the emotional register stays warm and forgiving. The central arc follows a woman who keeps clashing with her brother's fiancée until both sides reluctantly find common ground. Intensity is low: humiliation and verbal jabs, some bullying-flavored teasing, and no real violence, gore, or sexual content. For people who want a feel-good, low-stakes family comedy with a sharp-tongued heroine and a happy ending.
