The story

Set amidst a wave of violent animal attacks sweeping across the planet, a young renegade scientist is thrust into a race to unlock the mystery behind this pandemic before time runs out for animals and humans alike.

What it’s like

Wide establishing shots of cities, coastlines and empty roads give way to tight, jittery close-ups whenever an animal turns on people, with a thriller score that pulses under every chase and cutaway. The palette leans toward cool daylight and dusky blues, with dim interiors lit by monitor glow and emergency-room fluorescents. Its vibe is urgent, pulpy and conspiracy-minded: a fast-moving paranoia thriller that keeps shifting between continents and small domestic moments. Pacing is brisk and cliffhanger-driven, and the emotional arcs centre on a reluctant scientist and his circle of allies slowly trusting one another as the danger spreads. Intensity is moderate to high: frequent animal attacks with bloody wounds and deaths, some graphic injury, and tense peril throughout, but little sexual content and no sustained cruelty. It suits a weeknight binge with the lights half-down, or a viewer who wants propulsive suspense with an apocalyptic edge rather than a gentle watch. It is for people who enjoy serialized disaster thrillers and don't mind violence in service of momentum.
