The story

A zombie apocalypse that imprisons participants and producers of a reality show called Olimpo, The House of the Gods. The studio becomes a shelter for those who seek salvation in Rio de Janeiro where chaos and hopelessness begin to rule.

What it’s like

Hot, saturated Rio light spills across dusty streets and sunlit favelas, while the studio interiors glow under the flat, artificial brightness of reality-TV sets, so the show's sheen and the city's decay sit side by side on screen. The mood is sun-bleached unease with a bingeable, genre-pulpy energy: fast cutting in the outbreak scenes, handheld urgency in chase sequences, and quieter stretches of stale air and mounting paranoia inside the compound. Sound leans on synth pulses and tense percussion, with Portuguese dialogue carrying the pressure. The pacing is brisk and serialized, with cliffhanger episode endings, and the tone shifts between camp humour and grim despair as the characters' loyalties and fear start to fray. Violence is frequent and visceral, with zombie attacks, bloody gore, and deaths that land hard; there is some sexual content and strong language. It suits a late-night binge when you want genre tension rather than gentleness. It is for viewers who enjoy zombie survival horror with a specific Brazilian setting, and who like their apocalypse glossy, claustrophobic and emotionally bruising.
