The story

Merliah Summers, a mermaid from Oceana, travels to Australia for a surfing competition. But when she learns that the evil Eris is planning to take over her kingdom, she must stop her at any cost.

What it’s like

Bright, glossy computer animation in saturated turquoise, coral and sunny yellow, with shimmering underwater light and sun-bleached Australian beaches that look freshly polished. Surf sequences move quickly, while quieter scenes in grottos and coastal towns stay gentle and open. The soundtrack leans on upbeat pop songs and bouncy, cheerful score, with the sea sounds and splashes given plenty of room. The vibe is sunny, playful and lightly adventurous, a bright Saturday-morning feel with a fun, breezy rhythm. Peril is mild and cartoonish, with a scheming villain and magical stakes but no gore and little real fear. It suits a family movie night, a sunny afternoon with children, or a comfort watch for anyone who loves mermaids, surfing and bright pop color. It is made for young viewers and for adults who want something light, bubbly and kind.
