The story

Damian Wayne is having a hard time coping with his father's "no killing" rule. Meanwhile, Gotham is going through hell with threats such as the insane Dollmaker, and the secretive Court of Owls.

What it’s like

Crisp, hand-drawn 2D animation in deep blue-black Gotham nights, with sharp cel shading and bright flashes of Robin's red and green against the gloom. Rooftop chases and clean, kinetic fight choreography alternate with quieter, eerie passages: pale owl motifs, a shadowy secret society, and a dollmaker's unsettling workshop lit by cold lamplight. The orchestral score swells and drives the action, with tense, sparse stretches for suspense. The vibe is brisk, witty and energetic, with bickering banter and a fun, comic-book sense of spectacle. Violence is moderate: frequent punch-and-kick brawls, some gunplay and menacing threats, with dread more than gore, though a few scenes are dark enough for younger viewers to notice. Pacing is fast, with the emotional core built around a prickly, proud young hero learning what his father's code means. It suits a Saturday-morning-style movie night, a comic fan's rewatch, or anyone who wants a lively, stylish superhero film with a dark edge and warm moments between the leads. It is aimed at fans of the DC animated universe and of father-son hero stories.
