The story
A road rage incident between two strangers — a failing contractor and an unfulfilled entrepreneur — sparks a feud that brings out their darkest impulses.
What it’s like
Sun-bleached Los Angeles in harsh daylight and sodium-orange night, with wide, glossy shots of freeways, strip malls and gated houses that feel faintly overexposed. The camera tends to hold on faces in close, uncomfortable framing, so every twitch of a smile or flinch lands hard, and the score leans on tense, pulsing electronic beds that drop out into awkward silence. The mood is anxious and bitterly funny, a dark comedy with a sour, cringing edge where small humiliations keep escalating into something much worse. Its people are stuck and spiralling, and the arcs track two unhappy lives slowly curdling as each tries to win a fight that has stopped being about the original insult. The violence is sharp and sudden rather than constant: there are brief, startling outbursts and cruel, deliberate acts, along with real sexual coercion and marital cruelty handled with discomfort, but no sustained gore. It suits a late night alone with the lights low, or a restless evening when you want something tense and biting. This is for viewers who enjoy bleak, morally messy comedy and don't need anyone to be likeable.
