The story
When a financial titan suddenly finds himself divorced and jobless, he starts robbing his wealthy neighbors to stay afloat. Stealing from his own social circle strangely exhilarates him—but he gradually gets tangled in a deadly web.
What it’s like
Sun-washed suburban afternoons, manicured lawns, and glossy kitchens and living rooms that feel expensive and a little too quiet, with a polished, controlled camera that lets awkward silences and sideways glances do the work. The palette runs crisp and daylit, and the sound is mostly easy, wry needle-drops and dialogue-led scenes, with tension sharpening as the comedy curdles. The vibe is slick, sardonic unease: a dark comedy with a steady, knowing rhythm, where humiliation and money anxiety play as jokes and then turn sour. Expect frank adult content, including an affair, plus strong language, crime, and some violence that arrives suddenly and lands hard, though it's not gory for its own sake. Not gentle, and not a comfort watch. It suits a late evening with a drink, or a binge when you want sharp performances from Jon Hamm and Olivia Munn in a world of privilege coming apart at the seams. It's for viewers who like morally slippery characters, wry tone, and stories where wealth hides plenty of rot.
