The story

Two adorable kids, a quirky mother-in-law and a happy-go-lucky friend help a heartbroken wife bring a straying husband back from the other woman's tangled embrace.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated studio colour and sun-washed Mumbai interiors give this 1999 Hindi comedy the glossy, theatrical look of late-90s Bollywood, with bold primary costumes, mirrored sets and wide, well-lit musical numbers that favour the full frame over moody close-ups. Its sound is buoyant: upbeat synth-and-dhol song sequences, slapstick sound cues and a bouncy score that keeps a light, cheerful pulse even through the tangled deceptions. The pacing is brisk and farcical, with scenes building in escalating mix-ups, and the register stays playful rather than wounded, so the emotional beats of a betrayed wife and a wandering husband land as sweet and comic rather than raw. Intensity is mild: some slapstick physical comedy and a few tense confrontations, with no real violence, gore or sexual content. It suits a lazy weekend afternoon, a family movie night or a comfort watch when you want something warm, silly and romantic. It is for viewers who enjoy big-hearted, musical romantic comedies and who like their marital drama wrapped in colour and laughter.
