The story

After crossing paths at a party, a Cape Town teen sets out to prove whether a private-school swimming star is her sister who was abducted at birth.

What it’s like

Bright, sun-warmed Cape Town light sits on everything: chlorine-blue swimming pools, dusty township streets, mountain-backed suburbs, and the glare of a crowded party at night. The camera stays close and restless, moving with teenagers who talk over each other, and the score leans on upbeat pop and local music that spills out of cars and kitchens. The mood is energetic and emotionally loud, with a steady undercurrent of anxiety about family, class and who a person really is. A teen investigating whether a private-school swimmer is her missing sister drives a story of friendship, rivalry and secrets that moves briskly from episode to episode. Some teen drinking, sexual talk and a few tense confrontations appear, and the violence is occasional and not graphic. It suits a binge over several evenings, or a weekend when you want something bright and absorbing with real emotional stakes. It is for viewers who enjoy youthful, character-driven teen drama with a strong sense of place.
