The story

Sumair Azad, a dirty cop and his friend, Jaggi, steal Sikandar Chowdhary's cocaine bag. As a result, Sikandar kidnaps Sumair's son, but things take a turn when he loses the cocaine bag as he faces off Gurugram’s drug lords, a crime boss, murderous narcs and straight cops on one fateful night.

What it’s like

Night-soaked and grimy, with sodium streetlight pooling on wet tarmac, cramped apartment interiors lit by a single bare bulb, and the occasional flash of nightclub neon. The camera stays close and restless through the chases and standoffs, and the score is a driving, bass-heavy thriller pulse that spikes into percussive bursts of gunfire. Its vibe is sweaty, feverish and tense, a single long bad night that barely lets up. The pacing is relentless, with scenes cutting quickly between factions and each double-cross tightening the screws. The emotional register is hard and cynical, following a compromised cop whose loyalties and fatherhood are tested under pressure. Violence is frequent and often brutal, with shootings, beatings and blood on screen, alongside drug use, threats to a child and a generally menacing criminal underworld. It is not gentle and not for a relaxed background watch. It suits late-night viewing for people who want a propulsive crime thriller with a bruised, morally grey edge.
