The story

Hitori Gotoh, a shy, awkward, and lonely high school student dreams of being in a band despite her doubts and worries, but when she is recruited to be the guitarist of a group looking to make it big, she realises her dream may be able to be fulfilled and come true.

What it’s like

Bright, exaggerated animation with saturated daylight colours, sunny school corridors and suburban streets, and a sudden lurch into dark, distorted close-ups whenever its anxious lead spirals inward. Comic timing carries most scenes, with rubbery reaction faces and sharp sound gags giving way to live-band sequences where the guitars surge and the frame fills with motion. The soundtrack is driven by electric guitar and pop-rock energy, sliding between chaotic jams and soft, hushed moments. The vibe is warm, awkward and buoyant, a comfort watch for a weekend afternoon or a light evening with nothing demanding attention. Pacing is brisk, episodes moving quickly from one embarrassing scene to the next, and the emotional register stays gentle and affectionate. Its central arc follows a painfully shy young woman slowly learning to share space with others, and the group's friendships grow in small, believable steps. Intensity is low: no violence or gore, no sexual content, and little threat beyond social discomfort and self-doubt, which is played for laughs and sympathy. It suits viewers who want something funny, sincere and musical, especially anyone who has ever felt out of place and enjoys seeing that feeling handled with humour.
