The story
Join Thea Stilton and the Thea Sisters on an adventure packed with mystery and friendship! The Thea Sisters are visiting a friend in sunny California -- and she invites them to the set of a movie in Hollywood! The mice love being around famouse and fabumouse directors and actors as they're working. But then an important reel of film is stolen from the studio! Can the Thea Sisters catch the thief and save the movie?
What it’s like
Bright, sun-washed California light spills over tidy sets and bustling studio lots in this lively middle-grade mystery, all cheerful primary colors, cartoonish illustrations of mice in sweaters and sneakers, and busy double-page spreads that reward slow looking. The voice is brisk and chatty, full of playful wordplay and little asides about film-making jargon, so it reads quickly and feels like a chatty friend narrating from the next seat. The pace is steady and episodic, with short chapters that end on small cliffhangers and a warm, giggly sense of teamwork among the girls. Emotional stakes stay light: friendship, curiosity and a bit of suspense rather than real danger. Violence and sexual content are absent, and fear stays mild, a flicker of "who took it?" rather than dread. Good for a cozy afternoon, a sleepover read, or a gentle bedtime story, and for young readers who love Hollywood glamour, mysteries with clever sleuthing, and sisterly adventures.
