The story

Cult of the Lamb casts players in the role of a possessed lamb saved from annihilation by an ominous stranger, and must repay their debt by building a loyal following in his name. Start your own cult in a land of false prophets, venturing out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community of woodland worshippers and spread your Word to become the one true cult.

What it’s like

Hand-drawn and storybook-bright, with saturated greens, warm wood-brown bases and candle-orange glows, then a sudden slide into bleeding reds and ink-black dungeon corridors. The look is chunky, wobbly and deliberately cute: little lamb sprites with flopping ears, rounded cult followers, cartoon gore that splatters in neat bursts rather than lingering. The soundtrack is jaunty folk-and-chant energy with off-kilter organ and xylophone pings, dropping to hushed strings when the camera pulls back over a quiet camp at night. Vibe: cheeky, cosy-sinister, a sweet surface over a dark grin. It suits a rainy weekend, a long stretch of base-building while half-listening to something else, or a comfort loop of small daily chores. Pacing is rhythmic, with short, roguelike dungeon runs that feed into slower, tending-the-farm downtime. Violence is frequent but cartoonish: sword and axe combat, bloody but stylised, with fear and cruelty played for comic effect rather than dread. Some crude humour and a few grotesque bodily jokes. For people who want a playful, slightly unhinged management game with a lot of cute creatures and a heavy dose of irreverent mischief.
