The story
In a dystopia riddled with corruption and cybernetic implants, a talented but reckless street kid strives to become a mercenary outlaw — an edgerunner.
What it’s like
Neon-soaked night cityscapes in saturated pinks, teals and acid yellows, with grime and rain-slick streets, hard edges and fast, kinetic cuts. The hand-drawn anime look is sharp and graphic, with flat shadows and bursts of glowing chrome that make the implants and gunfire pop. Sound is driven by a pulsing synth score and a dense, mechanical sound mix of traffic hum, clanging machinery and sudden silences before bursts of gunfire. The vibe is electric and bleak: neon loneliness with a reckless, adrenaline-fuelled edge. It suits late nights alone, or a binge when you want something stylish and propulsive. Pacing is fast and episodic, with tight, short episodes that alternate between quiet, melancholy beats and explosive set pieces. The emotional register is melancholy and tense, following a young, impulsive street kid who gradually learns what it costs to chase a dangerous dream. Intensity is high: frequent, stylised, often bloody violence, cybernetic body horror, drug use, and grim deaths, with some sexual content and profanity. It is for viewers who want style-forward cyberpunk with a heavy, tragic undertow, not something gentle.
