The story

Two down on their luck men try to kidnap a wealthy businesswoman's dog to demand a hefty ransom from her. But things go haywire when the dog goes missing.

What it’s like

Bright, saturated Bollywood studio colour: sunny Mumbai exteriors, flat daylight in cramped flats, and a lot of brisk, bouncing camera work that keeps the frame full of people talking over each other. The sound is busy and cheerful, with a loud, poppy film score, quick comic sound effects, and rapid-fire dialogue that tumbles from one gag into the next. The mood is breezy and chaotic, a cheerful farce where the confusion keeps escalating in good humour. Its rhythm is brisk and episodic, built on mistaken identities, escalating misunderstandings and slapstick timing, and the emotional register stays light, with the main arc following two hapless friends who keep stumbling into bigger messes. The violence is mild and cartoonish, with pratfalls and comic threats rather than real harm, and there is no gore, and the romance is gentle and sweet. It suits a lazy afternoon, a group watch, or a laugh-out-loud comfort rewatch, and it is made for people who want a noisy, warm-hearted comedy with nothing darker underneath.
