The story

Follow a group of high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors from Degrassi Community School, a fictional school in Toronto, Ontario, as they encounter some of the typical issues and challenges common to a teenager's life.

What it’s like

Bright, fluorescent school corridors, lockers and cafeteria tables under flat daylight, with Toronto streets and apartments in cool grey-blue and warm interior lamplight. The camera stays close and mobile, following teenagers through hallways, parking lots and bedrooms, and phone screens and group chats often fill the frame. The sound is pop and indie-leaning songs over bustling school noise, with quieter, more intimate scoring for emotional scenes. Its vibe is earnest, busy and candid, with a warm, youthful energy that tips into anxious and raw when things go wrong. It suits a weeknight after school, a comfort rewatch of a familiar setting, or stretches of background viewing that still reward attention. Pacing is brisk and episodic, with each storyline moving quickly through its own crisis, and the emotional register swings between lightness and real heaviness. Its young characters tend to move from confusion and defensiveness toward tentative honesty, forming and breaking friendships along the way. Intensity is moderate to high: teen social conflict, bullying, sexual content and references, substance use, and some depictions of self-harm and violence, handled directly but without gore. It is for viewers who want a grounded, socially engaged teen drama that takes adolescent problems seriously.
