The story

Full story of the original with eight new scenarios, four fan favorite characters, and three character classes from the Disgaea series.

What it’s like

Bright, cartoonish anime art in saturated reds, purples and pastel-hued demon realms, with chibi-proportioned sprites and bold, flat-lit character portraits that pop against dark dungeon grids. The soundtrack is a bouncy blend of orchestral and rock cues, sometimes jaunty, sometimes hammering, and the menus chirp and clatter with a playful, arcade-like snap. Battles unfold on isometric grids of stacked blocks where you move units and chain attacks in turn-based sequences, each hit followed by exaggerated numbers and comic animations. The overall feel is irreverent and cheerfully chaotic, a wry send-up of demon-lord politics wrapped in a tactically dense, deeply customisable system. Cartoon violence is constant but bloodless, with slapstick flair rather than gore, and there is crude, suggestive humour now and then. Pacing is flexible: short skirmishes can stretch into marathon grinding sessions, making it a good fit for long evenings, a Switch handheld on the couch, or a late-night "one more battle" run. It suits players who enjoy sprawling strategy, deep build-tinkering and silly, self-aware fantasy comedy.
